If you are an active social media marketer you might have heard about Klout.com. This is a revolutionary app that is making the change in social media marketing. Klout launched in 2008 and it’s a desktop and mobile-friendly app.
Within this app, brands and public websites can utilize Klout’s analytics to determine the rank of their users. What and how it’s measuring their Influencer Marketing ways. This score is calculated is by the numerical value 1-100.
Your Influencer Marketing Score is determined by the size of the user’s social media engagement. All this data gathered on already existing content and measured with the use of their content.
In this post, I will review what does Klout measure and how can it can help you increase values you share in your social media channels.
What does the Klout measure anyway?
In order for you to use Klout, you have to give the site access to all of your social media accounts you want to track. I would start with, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+. If you are big on LinkedIn, then I would integrate that channel as well. These are your staples to start with in understanding your Influencer Marketing game.
Overall, Klout actually provides you with four scores altogether: your overall Klout score, amplification probability, network scores and true reach of your Influencer Markering.
To measure the scores, Klout had reported thirty-five variables on Twitter and Facebook. Your overall Klout score is highly related to the comments, clicks, and retweets. Your engaged audience is measured via True Reach.
This is the method in which Klout looks for instances of followers and friends who are actively listening and reacting to your posts. True reach is the only score that is not based on the 1-100 scale. Your amplification Score is the likelihood that your posts are retweeted and received a reply.
The Network Score examines your engaged audience and then considers how these posts are influential.
Klout had never announced how exactly it measures it’s scoring and how it weighs all the numbers. It refers to comments, clicks, and even retweets, however, it does not give any hint on whether any of these are seen more valuable than others. Klout never said if there is a difference between a frequent follower reply over having a multitude of replies from different followers.
How can Klout help you with social media?
The most valuable feedback that Klout can give you is to validate whether you have a good presence on social networking sites and track how your online visibility changes in time. Upon using Klout over time, you will have a very vivid idea of how your social media networks had grown. Most importantly if your Influencer Marketing game is increasing.
You could use this data to improve your social presence and increase your user engagement. With Klout, you can experiment with the data it provides to help you market your brand well over social media networks.
Overall, Klout defines the effectiveness of your social media strategy. Ask yourself today, what’s your Klout score? If you are already using Klout, maximizes the benefits it offers and starts tracking your social media accounts the right way!
