In today’s market having your Instagram for Business is a must in order to properly promote your business visually on social media channel giant like Instagram.
It’s clear that market recognizes that Instagram became one of the most effective ways to market your business through social media channels. That comes for any business, small or big. Whether you market digitally or physically your products.
Instagram helps you reach that goal of taking a picture of your product. Writing a description about your product and posting it on your Instagram for Business account.
For many of your product creators and launchers would seem as this is an easy step. Let me remind you that there are still plenty folks out there that suck at this game of growing their Instagram for Business.
Let me explain some of the huge mistakes I see day-to-day marketers still make:
1. Don’t keep your account private
Number one mistake I see a lot of new online business owners make when trying to using Instagram for Business and keeping their accounts private.
It’s a huge mistake! Don’t think for a second that anyone would have time to follow you and wait till you open your account for them to see. Marketing your private account is silly. Having your account private is just like having your storefront business with a sign “Sorry We are Closed”.
2. Captivate with your profile
It’s a key component to spark the attention of newcomers that see your page for the first time. Get them to be more curious while they’ll scroll through your feed. Make the most use of that space. As that will be your landing page, where the newcomer can learn about you and your services.
3. Create a consistent theme story
Creating a consistent Instagram look to grow your Instagram for Business for with the look and feel of your brand is the key element.
Your Instagram profile is your brand’s first impression of what you do and what your business is about. The first 9 photos of your feed are what gets people’s attention. The interest of attention will be the first impression. Make it count and interesting.
This is what makes new visitors want to follow you for.
4. Use your link wisely
Instagram isn’t like any other social media platform. Your bio is the only place where you can place that clickable link. Make the best use of that space.
Placing short link makes it easier for people to click on your link. Especially if that link has specific keywords, which are easy to remember.
Most importantly, you can track every click on the shortening links.
I found it most useful is to use Bitly or Goo.gl link, which allows for tracking. As Google Analytics won’t recognize mobile traffic which comes from Instagram.
5. Share your Storytelling through your feed
Don’t expect to get followers without giving them a reason to follow. Don’t forget that Follow to Follow wasn’t a catch in a first place. So don’t get your hopes there.
Use your feed to share your story. Whether your story is about your travels or stuff you make. Make it magazine style.

It’s important to remember that you want to tell a story throughout your images. As especially if the pictures themed. It’s just like browsing a magazine that tells a story of a specific product they are marketing. For example, a Fashion Magazine that has all the latest fashions, make-up and accessories, wouldn’t be placing pictures of fishing equipment or sports gear, as that wouldn’t be relevant.
The wrong way to marketing your Brand on Instagram is by posting random pictures of your life without a storyline behind it.
The best way to increase your following on Instagram is by engaging with others.
Lastly, find an account that inspires you, follow, learn and model after it.
