It has however been observed that not all these Brand Marketers are proficient in using Pinterest due to some common mistakes. 1. Not having your Profile Filled out:
Number one Pinterest Mistakes is when a Marketer doesn’t bother to fill out his or her profile.
It is like an unknown person is doing the marketing. Only a few people will click the follow button for Accounts that do not have a robust profile. This is a major breach of Advertising ethics; Customers cannot connect to unknown people. There is a need to fill out your profile for your potential customers to know who you are; Your profile allows you to list your expertise and accomplishments. This way, you will have more people following your Pinterest account. The more your followers, the greater your chances of making great sales.

This will make people know that your blog is important. The advantage of this is that you will get more visitors to your Blog from Pinterest.

When a few boards include several unrelated items, the purpose of advertising is defeated.

Do not create the Pinterest boards without any descriptions. This description will just be some texts about the board and what content to expect from it. Additionally, a good description of your boards will attract more interest in your boards.
9. No Keywords in your Pin Descriptions:
It is very common to find Pin Descriptions without keywords, this is a huge Pinterest Mistakes.
When there are no Keywords in your Pin Descriptions, it is difficult for you to optimize the Pinterest Search Engine to your benefit. When there are keywords related to your products and services, your Pin Descriptions will show up easily when your keywords are searched.
10. Pinning without a purpose:
It is not uncommon to observe brand marketers on Pinterest pinning without purpose. When you Pin without a purpose, you get attentions that have no purpose. Do not just pin for the sake of an activity on your account, closely monitor what other brand marketers like you are pinning and use it to determine what you will pin. Pinning without purpose is a serious Pinterest Mistakes to make. It makes your account look more like Spam.
11. Not pinning enough of quality content:
Always ensure that you provide enough quality content to promote your brand on Pinterest. If you do not have enough quality content to promote your brand, then you can expect other brands that do have them to make all the sales. People want to invest their money wisely, so you need to prove that your brand is what the investment with a continuous supply of high quality content.
12. Overly using Hashtags:
Although Hashtags are good for tracking keywords on Pinterest, using them excessively is bad and you’ll be making biggest Pinterest Mistakes you can make!
Remember that Hashtags are only clickable on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and not meant for Pinterest. Applying Hashtags in Pinterest is pointless, as they aren’t traceable.
13. Spamming your links, not in your pins.
Adding your Links and or replacing them in other pin description is NOT OK and illegal in a world of Social Media. You’d making a tremendous Pinterest Mistake by doing that and other Pinners would simply block, and report you once they see that. Do not be quick to add your URL to other Pin’s descriptions that do not belong to you. This is because there are several spam accounts on Pinterest that regularly make Pins. Adding your URL to a Pin from a Spam or Bot account will only attract negative image to your URL.

Having no knowledge about your niche is dangerous to your Brand. As a Brand Marketer, there is a dire need to continuously research about your niche. This is the only way you can supply your audience with high quality content. Poor knowledge would lead to poor quality content. Without good content, you won’t get followers and without followers, your marketing effort as failed.
15. Not having a clear plan of action:
As a Marketer, you must have outlined your plans before you begin your marketing on Pinterest.
Your Plan will include how you intend to attract followers to your account and how to keep them as a long lasting audience. You must have adequate knowledge about your niche and you must have a clear technique of communication you intend to deploy on Pinterest. When you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.
