There are a handful features that are readily available on Pinterest which you can easily utilize for you to successfully save time. In this post, I have listed 13 interesting Pinterest tips and tricks to make Pinterest simpler and more exciting for you.
1. Optimize image before pinning.
Optimizing the image before you pin it, will allow for the image to be ranked! I hope you know that?!
Make sure when you create your images you name it using the exact headline of your blog post making sure applying keywords you trying to after for the SEO purposes. This enables you to save time as you don’t need to write descriptions every time you pin an image on Pinterest.
2. Analyze what’s being Pinned from you.
There’s an easy way to see what’s currently being pinned on Pinterest! You can do this by using this URL:
http://www.pinterest.com/source/websitedomainname.com/.
All you have to do is replace the website domain name and you can now see what’s the latest pins that are trending and currently being shared.
3. Automated Pin Descriptions.
Creating automatic pin descriptions isn’t that difficult at all. If you don’t use the first trick I have discussed here, the alt text or the words used to label the images in your website before placing the Pin It button is what will usually appear as the pin description. That said, it is essential that you make sure that the images in your blog are properly labeled and optimized. This will ensure that the images will have great descriptions once they are pinned on Pinterest.
4. Find the best boards to follow.
If you haven’t explored Pinterest that much, you wouldn’t know that you can easily find boards to follow. Pinterest has a “Follow Board” tool, which you can locate under the drop down menu on the top right corner of Pinterest. If you are a newbie in Pinterest, this is a great tool where you can follow really good Pinterest boards.
5. Connect with your friends on Pinterest.
The easiest and probably the quickest way to gain more followers on Pinterest is by inviting people you know in your network. Pinterest helps you find your friends easily with the use of other social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook, Google, and even your Yahoo account.
You can also easily type email addresses and send follow invites to people within your network and at the same time asking them to join Pinterest. People are most likely to follow you back as they already know you.
6. Clear recent searches.
Have you had that experience when you have searched something embarrassing on Pinterest and you don’t want other people to have the knowledge of it? There’s no need to worry now! There’s this feature on Pinterest that’s called “Clear Recent Searches”. Which is located in the settings of the account and can be very helpful in deleting everything you have recently searched. It’s just one click; all you have to do is go to your settings page and click the “Clear Recent Searches” button.
7. Clear recent contacts.
There’s also a “Clear Recent Contacts” option in Pinterest where you can easily practically the profiles of pinners you have recently interacted with. You can use the send option on Pinterest to do this and it will only take less than a minute of your time.
8. Share Pins with anyone.
There’s another way to share Pinterest pins aside from liking, re-pinning and pinning. You can also send images too. With this feature, you can send pins to people whether they are within your Pinterest network or not. The pins can be sent to those you mutually follow, friends on Facebook or Twitter and even via email. Just click the send button, type names with which you want to send the image.
9. Manage your notifications.
At some point, it will be frustrating to receive every email once someone likes, repins or follows you back on Pinterest. But now you don’t have to worry about that. There’s a way for you to stop receiving all these annoying notifications! Under the “Email Notifications” in the settings page, you can choose things you would like to be alerted with and no for things you don’t want to see. You can even have all the notifications sent just once a day rather than every time something new is happening in your account.
10. Manage group board notifications.
With this option, you can easily choose to receive notifications only from people you are following on Pinterest. On the notifications tab, just click edit, modify your options and click the save changes button.
11. Why convert Pinterest boards to a secret.
With this update, you can hide existing boards so no one can see them or only people you share it with. When you add a pin to the “secret board“, it simply won’t show anywhere. Or for example, you can have can create a new board and built it up while keeping it secret. When you think it’s ready for the public eye, you can make it public.
12. See what’s popular on Pinterest.
Do you want to know what’s popular on Pinterest? The popular section is perfect for you! This is where you can find the trending pins which are usually re-pined and with repeated comments. You can share these pins to increase user engagement.
13. How to Organize your Boards.
Consider organizing your boards from a desktop. You can highlight most popular items on your boards by creating custom covers in Canva. The best way to track what’s popular by your followers is going through your analytics and reviewing what is being pinned the most.
