BOARD ORGANIZATION
When starting out on Pinterest whether you have a new Pinterest account or somewhat old, you’d want to showcase your best boards on very top or let me add by saying,  they have to be your most important boards, where your best content is.  It is also recommended to Place your most important Boards on Top.  You can easily shuffle them around right from your desktop.  Keep on target and organized when you create your boards and adding your pins. It is best to add at least 20-30 relevant pins when you are creating a new board. Boards that have very few pins are not attractive for your users.
Keep on target and organized when you create your boards and adding your pins. Â The newly created board can also be your “Secret Board”. Â That way you can collect all of the initial pins in your secret board and the make it public so when your follower sees your new board, they will be seeing many pins from you right away.
OPTIMIZATIONÂ
Do your homework on researching the keywords starting out on Pinterest.   Name your boards with descriptive names of the content topics, based on keywords that can be searchable. This strategy can help you to better attract visitors from your targeted audience.
People who will be searching for specific keyword or topic will easily find your Pinterest boards in their search results when starting out on Pinterest . Also, this will improve your user’s experience because it allows them to find much easier what they are looking for.
Your own pins that are added into the boards will help to direct traffic to your blog from Pinterest. Â You must include URL’s in the source of the Pin, in order to direct your viewers directly to your blog post. Â Whether you plan to use Pinterest for Business or just for personal use, be sure to verify your URL in order to enable Pinterest Analytics to process data from your website.
And in the description of your Board names add your keywords that are directly related to your niche. This will help you better target and attract your audience.
CUSTOM COVER BOARDS
When starting out on Pinterest you can add an additional spark to your Pinterest profile by creating custom covers for each of your Boards (see below image from my own profile). It is also recommended to stick to the 80/20 rule: pin your own original content 20 percent of the time, and others content 80 percent of the time.
Custom Covers can be created in Canva.com where they have many visually appealing templates.
INTEGRATE YOUR SOCIAL CHANNELS
When starting out on Pinterest  and even if Pinterest is not a clear distinction between a Brand Page and a Personal profile you can make good use of your Pinterest Presence and the pins and boards shared. However, you should choose the email associated with your brand’s Twitter account when you Set up your Pinterest profile because Pinterest’s integration with Facebook is still only for personal profiles.
PROFILE IMAGE
You can either keep your Twitter account Profile Photo on Pinterest or you can choose to upload a new photo. You can also alter and email and name associated with your account, add a brief description of your brand. Â You can also choose to Publicly link your Pinterest account to your Twitter profile.
A good Pinterest profile should include some quality photo of yourself, your brand or your best products. You need to create a memorable profile that stays consistent with your brand or the message of your content. When adding your image to the boards of your Pinterest, you need to keep consistent with the design. You can also consider adding your images with your special logo signature. This way, people will easily recognize your images by your signature style. Â Be brief in the description of your profile, since Pinterest profile only allows up pin descriptions up to 240 characters.
